Overview:

  • Supporting the development and execution of a strategic communications programme (within key regions) for a new product category which is in alignment with the agreed business objectives and corporate messages
  • Working with Konica Minolta HQ, the Marketing and Communications Manager and other Communications Specialists on a global scale to ensure alignment, while sensitive to local environments
  • This is a new business area for Konica Minolta and the Marketing Communications Specialist must be comfortable and open to non-traditional approaches / able to think ‘outside of the box’ to support the successful launch of a category innovation initiative

    Brand positioning:
  • Working closely with the Marketing and Communications Manager and Konica Minolta HQ to define the best brand positioning to support the successful entry into the IT services market with a new product category
  • Develop all suitable activities both internally and externally for the regions to support this initiative
  • Ensure the internal buy-in of an innovative / disruptive product category and communications architecture

    Category / product launch activities:
  • Develop and execute pre-launch activities including but not limited to product planning, pricing, sales enablement, sales training, product collateral, and competitive analysis
  • Works closely with global and local marketing teams, product management, business intelligence, sales and support teams to determine marketing plans for each targeted audience segment including both internal and external customers

    Internal engagement:
  • Working on internal engagement across sales and marketing to launch the new product category
  • Helping to position the new product category internally as an IT Services solution
  • Supporting stakeholders to positively understand the benefits (which can be categorised as follows - product features, customer value proposition, brand positioning, digital workplace strategy)
  • Working with the Marketing and Communications Manager to roll out digital workplace showrooms for the new product category
  • Building a suitable internal campaign
  • Evaluating and developing training requirement suitable for such a new and disruptive product category

    Campaigns:
  • Developing the global launch campaign(s)
  • Deriving regional launch plans and activities
  • Rolling out push-pull local marketing campaigns including the development of online / offline communities
  • Developing suitable local marketing and sales collaterals befitting a new product category
  • Developing regional / local campaigns
  • Defining key trade shows / events to promote the new product category
  • Providing guidance to worldwide subsidiaries and distributors

    PR:
  • Creating a global PR Strategy, deriving regional plans & activities
  • Developing relationships within the IT community (including journalists, thought leaders and social media gurus) to drive positive perceptions of Konica Minolta
  • Supporting the global Continuous Improvement Market Testing at a regional level within tight timeframes

    Central tasks of position:
    The Marketing Communication Specialist will:

  • Increased awareness of the new product category / the Konica Minolta brand in the IT sector
  • Tangible sales leads
  • Established relationships with the IT community
  • An increase in conversations promoting the Konica Minolta brand to the IT community

    Customer group of this position:
  • Internal: regional Marketing Teams, General Marketing Managers, Managing Directors and Sales Directors across the National Operating Companies, General Marketing Managers etc
  • External: Journalists, Analysts, thought leaders, customers

    Job Requirements

    Requirements to this position:

  • University educated (marketing or business subject preferred but not necessary)
  • Professional marketing qualification (desirable, but not necessary)
  • Perennial professional experiences in Marketing
  • Excellent MS-Office Knowledge
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Fluent in English (written and orally)
  • Wide experiences in project work
  • Independent / entrepreneurial working style
  • Analytic, conceptual thinking
  • High sense of responsibility
  • Able to work independently but with a sense of team spirit
  • Able to prioritise a wide range of work commitments
  • Adaptable to different cultural environments
  • Able to travel on a regular basis
  • Confidently able to work in a global environment with remote team members
