Position Overview: Sales of Meridian products and services to major and government accounts.
The Major Account Executive is responsible for acquiring new business customers by developing leads, contacting prospects, making appointments and closing opportunities. You will contact cold and warm prospects through a combination of telephone and in person calls to obtain appointments and will assist customers and prospects in attaining their goals through proper utilization of company products and services to ensure goodwill between customers and Meridian.
Generate new leads with targeted businesses through various prospecting activities, including cold calling, canvassing, customer referrals, and partner relationships.
Effective planning to conduct sales presentations by meeting customers physically on daily basis.
Design professional demonstrations or presentations of company products and services while on-site.
Maintain up to date knowledge on new products, procedures, services and tools by attending departmental and training meetings.
Maintain professionalism, diplomacy, sensitivity, and tact to portray the company in a positive manner.
Use market data to maximize sales effectiveness and efficiency by using relevant sales management tools.
Prepare reports for sales and marketing and maintain expense account.
Perform updating and maintenance of all customer account information to include contact names and numbers for future sales in sales chain.
Ensure follow-up after receiving leads with complete profile of customer information, calls-to-action, sources, dates, etc.
Create and perform face-to-face sales presentations to match Meridian products and services with identified customer needs.
Understand all aspects of Meridian’s products and services including all features and functionalities, as well as equipment and installation to facilitate sales efforts.
Achieve and exceed assigned sales and business quality objectives
Maintain sales record keeping and prepare sales and activity reports as required
Generate business to meet monthly, quarterly and annual objectives.
Monitor competitive activity and market conditions, providing feedback and suggestions to management regarding new product additions and deletions.
Participate in trade shows, industry events, customer entertainment activates, sales meetings, training programs, and conferences as directed.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Sales Manager
Required Skills: B.A. or B.S. Degree preferably in Business or Sales and Marketing, or the recognized equivalent in work experience and self-study.
12-24 months of business-to-business outside sales experience preferred and successful track record
Self starter with excellent time management and business sales competencies
Technical aptitude and strong knowledge of computers and the internet
Excellent writing skills as well as strong persuasive abilities and negotiation skills
Proficient in MS Excel and MS Word
Valid Driver's license and reliable transportation required
Effective January 1, 2011 all Account Executives (Sales Reps) will be required to perform the following base customer management functions:
Sales Funnel update for all new, working and forecasted leads.
Competitive Equipment Lead Process must be followed for all lost and cash transactions.
These requirements will be reviewed and evaluated on a quarterly basis to determine accuracy and completion. These functions are considered part of your regular position responsibilities of which you receive bi-weekly compensation for expected job performance. Effective at the start of each new quarter, if you have not met these minimum customer management functions, you will forfeit up to 50% of your base salary. This will remain in effect until the start of the following quarter.
