Position Summary
Reporting to the National Manager of Advanced Technology Solutions, the Enterprise Engineer I is expected to have a very high level of knowledge, and experience in their area of expertise – and to collaborate with their team of highly skilled professionals. This team will support the business in both proactive and reactive work, establishing best practices, standards, and processes and propagating these throughout the organization.

The Enterprise Engineer I is responsible for:

  • Understanding of how their area of expertise will advance the objectives and mission of All Covered as a whole.
  • Ability to develop and achieve goals.
  • Continuous improvement in standards, processes, best practices, and execution.
  • Keeping current on new products and advancements in their area of expertise.
  • Keeping current on the business areas their technical areas of expertise support.
  • Development of training material relevant to their area of expertise.

    The role is critical to support core business functions and services. Continuous improvement and a holistic approach are key qualities for the role.

    Duties and Responsibilities
    Team Member
  • Develops standards, processes, best practices, and training in line with their area of expertise.
  • Participating in forward progress on monthly, quarterly, and yearly goals.
  • Engages or leverages other SME groups or areas of the organization when appropriate.
  • Upholds a strong ethic for systems management that leverages a holistic approach that considers the impact to the entire organization.
  • Drives toward solutions that support automation and self-service.
  • Serves as a technical escalation point for the company when participating in a reactive team.

    Technology Evangelist
  • Serves as major contributor in their area of expertise within the company.
  • Partners with markets to roll out technology standards across the company.
  • Collaboration with various functional areas of the organization, uncovering systemic issues or areas of optimization and developing comprehensive solutions to address them.
  • Keeping current on new products and advancements in their area of expertise.

    Critical Factors
  • Problem Solving and Analysis: The Enterprise Engineer I is responsible for systems and services that are both wide impacting and complex in nature. When issues come up, the Enterprise Engineer I must consider the impact of both the problem and solution from many different angles. The Enterprise Engineer I is also responsible for gauging the risks association with regular maintenance and day-to-day activities. The analysis will lead to contingency plans that weight the different approaches. Consequences may not be as straightforward as they appear. Solutions must also consider the impact to both internal and external users of the applications and services.

  • Independence: The Enterprise Engineer I must exhibit a high degree of initiative. In addition, the position must maintain alignment and make judgments as appropriate. Timeliness of decisions is critical and must be effectively communicated to those affected. The Enterprise Engineer I must have the self-discipline to ensure they are working toward an established standard. If one does not exist, the Enterprise Engineer I will seek out the best way to establish the standard and oversee its implementation throughout the company.

  • Decision Making: The Enterprise Engineer I carries the responsibility to contribute to decisions on their team of Enterprise Engineers. Part of the Enterprise Engineer I’s responsibility is to drive towards decisions and move the effort forward as planned. In many ways, the Enterprise Engineer I may be responsible for decisions; however, they need to ensure alignment with stakeholders, markets, other SME groups and clients.

    Decisions are made on a daily basis and the Enterprise Engineer I needs to determine when to seek supervisory assistance for additional guidance. The Enterprise Engineer I must defend and document decisions, strategies and options to the team and senior management. The Enterprise Engineer I must show autonomy and initiative with a team context. Significant architectural decisions are arrived at collectively with all team members contributing to the best possible solution. Decisions should be based on established guidelines. Decisions outside of the established guidelines and precedence guidelines should be consulted with senior management.

  • Degree of Impact: The Enterprise Engineer I is a highly visible position within the company. The systems and services that the Enterprise Engineer I manages and the decisions that are made affect the entire company and its clients on a major scale. Decisions made by the Enterprise Engineer I can affect the quality and availability of services to clients.

  • Liaison: The Enterprise Engineer II services as the key conduit between many disparate groups. These groups include additional Enterprise Engineer groups, All Covered markets, Information Technology, Central Services, Field organizations, Konica Minolta, clients and external resources (contractors, vendors, etc.). These interactions take place on a daily basis.

    Job Requirements


  • BS in Computer Science, Business or related job experience.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in a progression of roles.
  • Established track record in enterprise systems management.
  • Experience working at an enterprise scale as well as architecting an enterprise architecture.
  • Strong expertise with virtualization, servers, storage, networking and security.
  • Strong initiative and passion for making a difference through Infrastructure.
  • Strong business acumen and a drive toward business growth.
  • Experience leading systems architecture, technologies and methodologies.
  • Discipline to work remotely and communicate clearly.
  • Familiarity with the small-medium business (SMB) market and mid-market.
  • Relevant certifications to their area of expertise.

    Training is an essential part of continued growth at All Covered. As such, travel will be required for a week of off-site New Hire Training. This training is generally conducted within the 1st three (3) months of employment with the company. Additional skills training will also be available and further travel within the U.S. may be required for this position.
