Job Description

POSITION OBJECTIVE
Responsible for developing training content for assigned projects. Develops new program content based on identified needs and follows a defined approach and adheres to established processes. Works with subject matter experts to create/maintain classroom, virtual instructor led, video and self-paced online training content. This individual must be able to react to changing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously. They must be highly self-motivated and capable of making immediate decisions to get issues resolved and follow projects through to completion.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Uses established training content development templates to create standardized technical training course material for on line and instructor led training classes.
  • Revises/updates training content materials to ensure currency, accuracy and effectiveness as measured by supervisor/ manager, product teams/team leader and student/manager feedback.
  • Performs multiple assignments related to primary functions by effectively establishing priorities.
  • Applies concepts and principles to identify and resolve operational or procedural issues associated with assigned and/or related responsibilities.
  • Suggests improvements or enhancements to current course materials, development templates and processes/procedures.
  • Maintains high level of product and technology knowledge. Continual skill development is expected to be successful in using the latest tools and technology in the creation of learning content.
  • Follows prescribed processes and procedures, adheres to schedules and meets all deadlines.
  • Readiness to accept, and adapt quickly to change.
  • Strong work ethic and proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    Job Requirements

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Two year degree, technical school diploma or 2+ years’ experience related to instructional design and training content development for adult learners.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in time management and organizational discipline.

    OTHER SKILLS, REQUIREMENTS AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • 2 – 6 weeks of travel per year is required.
  • Self-motivated and demonstrated ability to work effectively with short project timelines.
  • Strong computer hardware and software expertise is a plus.
  • Demonstrable skill or examples of work completed using programs such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, In-Design, Illustrator, Acrobat, Dreamweaver), Articulate - Studio/Storyline, TechSmith - Camtasia, Rapid Intake - mStudio, Trivantis - Lectora, DominKnow – Claro or Raptivity.
  • Demonstrable skill with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) required.
